    Description

Lionel #9073, The Coca-Cola Illuminated Caboose, ca. 1974
This fine caboose is a sturdy and stylish piece in trademark red with great white details. My father noted in his catalog that the rear truck had been replaced with a coupler truck and contact shoes had been installed in each truck, a simple screw base light socket added, and that it has no window covering.
Striking addition to your layout. Add a few of the many Baby Ruth box cars, the Livesavers and Hershey tankers, and Domino hopper and you can have an all-sugar train!
Reproduction box in excellent condition aside from a little natural yellowing.
This is from my father's collection. A lifelong inhabitant of New York City and an avid Lionel collector since childhood, he kept his collection in excellent shape, in custom-built storage cases and in the original packaging as often as possible. Of course, there is some normal wear and tear but if a piece or its packaging has any damage beyond that, I will include it in the description and/or pictures.
Our family has selected our favorite pieces and would like to see that the rest go to people or places that will also appreciate them. We have many pieces of Lionel rolling stock, buildings, and equipment as well as various books and ephemera from a happy long life as a railfan.
There are hundreds of pieces and it will take several months to list them all, so keep an eye on my account to see if a piece you'd like is listed. We have items from the 1930s to the early 2000s. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I will be happy to combine items to reduce shipping costs if you buy more than one item. Please don't pay until you've bought all the items you'd like to be sent at once so I can combine the invoice and calculate the shipping.
