  • Condition: All trains and buildings have been opened, mostly for display in a custom-built case, and a few have been run. In like-new condition unless noted otherwise. All boxes are intact although some have wear and tear; if there are any rips, I will show them in the pictures.Locomotives and other mechanical items may not be in peak working order; although they were carefully maintained in my father's lifetime, he passed away in 2015.

    LIONEL No. 9301, OPERATING U.S. MAIL CAR, ca. 1975
    This car is in very good, lightly used condition. Door opens and Postman comes out to toss mailbags onto a platform. Platform and mailbags are not included.
    Original box, intact but with some wear and tear and both flaps detached. Vividly colored in great 70s style!
    This is from my father's collection. A lifelong inhabitant of New York City and an avid Lionel collector since childhood, he kept his collection in excellent shape, in custom-built storage cases and in the original packaging as often as possible. Of course, there is some normal wear and tear but if a piece or its packaging has any damage beyond that, I will include it in the description and/or pictures.
    Our family has selected our favorite pieces and would like to see that the rest go to people or places that will also appreciate them. We have many pieces of Lionel rolling stock, buildings, and equipment as well as various books and ephemera from a happy long life as a railfan.
